If fashion has taught us anything over the years, it’s that what was once old is new again. And nobody is better at melding and bridging archival eras with its contemporary offerings than Gucci. Creative Director Alessandro Michele regularly looks to the iconic fashion house’s archives to present legendary silhouettes in sleek, modern finishes, which inevitably find themselves at icon status once again. The brand’s Jackie, Diana, Dionysus and Soho Disco instantly spring to mind, each one steeped in fashion history (and each more iconic than the next).
Continuing the brand’s reign of era-defining designs is the recent release of the Gucci Blondie. Taking shape across multiple sizes, silhouettes and details, the Blondie not only features an interlocking GG emblem front and centre, a ‘70s motif unearthed from the brand’s archives, new and original details courtesy of Michele have seen it effortlessly weave into the modern day — including a sleek, emerald green leather finish that touches on this year’s unmissable colourway.
Thanks to its signature archival shape, coupled with a distinctly timeless feel, the Blondie has already seen itself draped across the arms of global trendsetters, including Dakota Johnson, Anne Hathaway, Elle Fanning and Alexa Chung, quickly cementing its status as the must-have item of the season.
Unveiled as part of Gucci’s Love Parade campaign, the Blondie is available in leather, suede and signature GG canvas.
